Pilates Classes

 Welcome to Poise Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on strengthening the core postural muscles that are essential in supporting the spine. Core strength refers to the deep internal muscles of the abdomen and back which, when working efficiently, improve body awareness and posture.

Pilates has been shown to be particularly effective in the prevention and treatment of back pain and it is recommended by health professionals around the world. It also helps to develop a long, lean muscle which allows those practicing it to increase their strength and flexibility.

Many physiotherapists use Pilates as part of patient treatments and recommend it as a form of rehabilitation. Each class lasts approximately 50 minutes and it is suitable for almost everyone.

Poise Pilates is based in the BMA Academy of Health & Fitness Centre. The Centre offers a wide range of classes and complementary therapies.
